Basic Guy at Home
I’ve always been interested in visual effects, so I jumped at the chance to take a class in it at school. For my final I wanted to bring a CG character into the real world. So I took a video of the hall in my apartment and built a Maya scene to duplicate it to a certain extent. The whole thing turned out to be more complicated than I thought, but it was pretty fun.

Background Final – Baba Yaga’s hut, Interior
This is the second final drawing for my background class. The interior of Baba Yaga’s hut.
The toning on this one turned out a lot more like I was going for than the exterior.
Background Final – Baba Yaga’s hut, Exterior
This is the first final drawing for my Background class, Baba Yaga’s hut from the outside.
I like the drawing, but my toning technique for this project wasn’t nailed down yet. I may repaint this.

The Yellow Wallpaper
Here are some illustrations for ‘The Yellow Wallpaper’ by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
“ I don’t even like to look out the windows even—there are so many of those creeping women, and they creep so fast.
I wonder if they all come out of that wallpaper as I did?”
I may return to this and clean up the composite, the shadows and whatnot, after finals.

Background Week 8 – Baba Yaga Ruffs
These are the rough layouts for my final in Background Layout and Design.
I’m pretty happy with how they turned out, and I got pretty good feedback in class. I think I know which two I’m going to go forward with.
